As we prepare for the release of the Wrath of the Lich King, Defenestration is going to be making a few changes. Not only will we work to become and even stronger raiding guild, but we're going to enhance the social aspect as well.
As part of this transition, I will be stepping down as GL of the guild I helped build and lead for the last 2 years. I'm not really going anywhere, just taking a backseat and a little R&R This guild has been, and I'm sure will continue to be the best group I've ever had the pleasure to stand shoulder to shoulder with, both in game and out and I look forward to future adventures.
Replacing me will be Xiela (who some of you may know as Curxie). She is not only an extremely capable player but has some exciting visions for the guild to move us into the next expansion. We've played together for several years now and I have no doubt she'll do an amazing job.
So with that I want to thank everybody who has made this such an awesome experience for me. I hope I was able to give to everybody even a little of what you have all given me. I am excited by what lies ahead for Defenestration with the new and improved queen bee running the show.
Below is an artists rendering of Xiela as I did not have an actual shot of her.

It's no secret that we've been in a bit of a healing pinch. Hell, not a bit of a pinch, a pretty nasty one that had pretty much stalled progression for the last 3 months. Well after much rebuilding, some perseverance by this amazing group of people, and a little help from some friends we're back in business.
The night started on Bloodboil and I figured given the intensity of the healing needed and a number of new faces we'd be at if for a while. Well I'm ashamed to think I was a doubter because everybody stepped it up big time and we cleared through him in short order.
On to mother which we had only seen once before a few months ago. We hadn't really solidified a strategy back then so we were almost starting from scratch. Also we had to go in with a few of the healers without shadow gear so I wasn't sure what to expect (who by the way did a fantastic job tonight). First attempt was just getting everybody familiar with the fatal attraction. 2nd attempt I wanted to look under her skirt so we all piled up and got a peep show. Well she didn't like that and nuked us. So the 3rd time we went back to our original strat and low and behold her health kept melting away. At 50% I was starting to get excited with only 1 person down, at 30% I thought this is actually doable. At 15% I stated yelling at my monitor, and at 0% I jumped out of my chair!
Really an incredible effort by everybody. Not just tonight but through out the past 3 months where the odds have literally be stacked against us. If it wasn't lack of healing then Doomhammer or internet problems were destined to halt us in any way possible. So my hats off to everybody that stuck it out and showed some real character. Great kill you guys, you definitely deserved it.

Congratulations Khaldean on the first Defenestration bear mount .
After we had cleared ZA a while back we were sort of burnt out on the place and pretty much stopped going. We'd have a few forays in here and there but we'd never really focused much on timed runs. A couple of weeks ago we decided to pick up the bear challenge and get back into ZA. I think our first attempt we got through the first 3 with several minutes to spare on the timer and we knew it was well within reach if we just cleaned up a few spots. Then the next few attempts we were getting quicker but it seemed that we'd have one mistake that would throw it all off.
Well this past week we finally had a clean run and were rewarded with our first (of many hopefully) bear mounts. Grats Khal, you're a natural at grabing that big wooden shaft on the bear.

Last pull of the night (which seems pretty common on our first kills), with 1/2 the flasks already worn out, we smoked this guy. Phase 1 we had near perfect rotations, phase 2 interrupts worked like clock work (we only had 1 mishap with humdinger killing himself, SW:D ftl in p2 hehe), phase 3 we just ramped up the firepower before he was able to kill us. It was only our 2nd or 3rd time in p3? I actually forget. Anyway really nice job all, everything went very smooth.
**edit: I wanted to add what a fantastic job the rogues/mages/tank did in p2 with inturrupt rotations, spell steals, and reflects. Really spot on.

Well, it's been almost 4 weeks since our last update and we've been quite busy since then with both raiding and general guild happenings. On the raiding front we've mostly been farming the easy bt/hyjal content working on gear and trying to get hearts of darkness.
However, we switched back into progression mode last week and began work on Gurtogg Bloodboil. We almost had him on Monday, down to 13% but hit repops and flasks were out so we decided to come back this week. Low and behold, night one back on him he went down.
I actually have found this to be the best fight we've seen in BT so far. I'm not sure the healers would agree but I love the coordination that goes on with tanking threat mechanics, healing coordination, and the groups getting bloodboil. Really, I found it to be a lot of fun.
Thanks to all those that helped me tweak and execute the strat. Hats off to the healers especially tonight. We did it with only 1 CoH priest and no OP chain heal so this was likely our hardest group makeup healing wise.
Anyway, grats everybody. Now we can start poking at RoS next week hopefully.
